Richard was a regular attendee at our annual Marine Midland (MarMid) Reunions. We were all very young when we worked there but lasting friendships were formed and it was probably the happiest time of all our working lives. Richard was a good man and his friendship, kindness and sense of fun will never be forgotten.

Those we love remain with us for love itself lives on, and cherished memories never fade because a loved one’s gone. Those we love can never be more than a thought apart, for as long as there is memory, they’ll live on in the heart.

Such a gentle, thoughtful and helpful man who was very generous with his time and friendship. Nothing was too much for him, he collected me from hospital and took me to the airport when going away and even looked after my cats r. Such a great sense of humour, always good to debate world issues with and loved our nights quizzing. As with the family, we will miss you greatly.

Dear Richard Such a kind gentle man in every sense of the word. You will be soooo missed by all who knew you, especially of course dear Chrissie, Laura and Andy and the in-laws and grand kids. We pray for you all and know you’ll be there to support each other. Can’t find a picture but the one here just encapsulates Richard…. Cuppa at the kitchen table with a smile, a tale and a joke. We enjoyed some lovely fun quiz evenings together- great memories of a great chap. Bless him and Rest in Peace dear friend. So generous and helpful in caring for our sofas and trailer!!!
